Joshua McGuin is a 2022 C/1B/OF with a 6-0 198 lb. frame from Toronto, ON who attends Forest Hill. Large frame with good present strength to the build. Ran a 7.31 second 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, simple actions with clean footwork, builds some into his release but shows significant arm strength that produces low throws with great carry to the bag. Also worked out in the outfield, rounds the ball well and works through it with sound actions while showing excellent arm strength clocked up to 91 mph to bags. Pitched as well, short arm action with good arm strength, worked into the mid-80s with some life to it and mixed in a short slider that sweeps at times. Left-handed hitter, strength plays offensively as well as he works uphill to get the ball in the air and was able to produce long carry when squared with a high intent approach to contact. Named to 2021 Sunshine East Showcase Top Prospect List.
