2021 Pittsburgh Indoor Showcase (Sunday)
Leo Foust is a 2023 OF/UT with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Baltimore, MD who attends Loyola-Blakefield HS. Leo is a medium framed, strong, quick, and twitchy athlete who shows projectable talent. In addition to Leo's obvious talent on the field, he is also a standout student. He ran a 7.14 60 yard dash. A primary OF, Leo shows plus skills that will only get better. His positioning and footwork are excellent. He plays through the fielding action with gathering momentum and his glovework is smooth and consistent. He transitions quickly and his 80 mph throwing velocity allows for his tosses to show sound carry and accuracy. His offensive game is fundamentally sound and shows great promise. His operation is simple and quiet. He starts with a slightly open stance and closes quietly and easily to trigger. Solid whip to the barrel and noticeable lower half rotation to finish. He gets on plane and through contact with force. Solid pull side ability. Nice round. Leo is a young player with solid fundamental ability who should really make a big jump as he gains upper level experience and matures a little more physically. Solid prospect with upside talent.
