Ethan Acevedo is a 2023 OF/LHP, 1B with a 5-8 155 lb. frame from Monroe, NY who attends Don Bosco Preparatory. Recorded a 6.88 second sixty-yard dash time. Smaller frame with quick twitch athleticism and room to physically mature. Primary outfielder with fundamentally sound defensive skill set and present athleticism in his movements. Uses quick footwork to approach, fielding cleanly off his front foot with maintained momentum into release. Displayed developing arm strength with really quick release to produce accurate throws up to 75 mph in drills. Secondary left-handed pitcher with a developing feel for pitching and fairly simple delivery. Good rhythm and tempo to delivery with slight upper half tilt and shorter stride out to foot strike. Fastball worked in the low-to-mid 70s, topping out at 75 mph with cutting life to it. Showed ability to command the strike zone fairly well, generating plenty of swing-and-misses with late tilt and depth to the fastball. Will need to develop secondary offering as he continues to mature as a pitcher. Also, took a turn at first base in the drill portion of the workout, displaying quick feet around the bag and accuracy on his throws across the diamond. Left-handed hitter that hits from an even based stance with a mid-height hand set and hanging leg lift trigger. Middle-to-opposite field approach with consistent bat-to-ball skills and developing feel for the barrel. Incorporates an inside-out hand path to produce slightly downward swing path and occasional line drive impact to the left side of the field. Plenty of projection remaining with good skill components to build on. Will continue to improve as he adds strength and matures. Excellent Student.
