Marcel Vega is a 2021 C/OF with a 5-7 150 lb. frame from Guaynabo, PR who attends Escuela Especializada en baseball. Medium and physical frame, broad shoulders and strength present. Ran a 7.00 second 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, sets up behind the plate with a side saddle stance, soft hand reception with a full transfer, feel for the position and an accurate arm, average arm strength down to second base, 2.13 second best pop time. Right-handed hitter, sets up with an open stance in the box, takes a big stride into contact with some quickness to his hands, shifts well and gets the lower half involved, can create back spin and barrels the baseball to the middle of the field. Great student.
