Tommy Leonzi is a 2021 SS/RHP, 2B with a 5-9 130 lb. frame from Frisco, TX who attends Lone Star. Compact frame with a lean build. Primary shortstop with clean footwork while ranging for and surrounding the baseball. Funnels out front and worked through exchange with fluidity. Primarily released from a three-quarters slot but flashed the ability to throw on the run from multiple arm slot. Throws created accurate carry across the infield at 76 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, balanced stance and medium leg lift trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Showed good balance throughout swing while employing a lifted barrel plane through extension. Displayed a fluid stroke and created best contact when staying level through extension. Also pitched utilizing a high energy side step to high leg lift delivery. Worked through gather quickly. Deep arm circle and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball generating good downhill tilt with run to arm side in the mid to upper 70's, topped at 78 miles per hour. Curveball had 10/5 shape with solid spin and sweeping action to glove side in the low 60's. Flashed the ability to add and subtract velocity with breaking ball to keep hitters off balance.
