2021 March Northern CA Workout Camp Sunday
Carl Rice is a 2023 OF/RHP with a 6-1 205 lb. frame from Pleasanton, CA who attends Foothill. Large frame with some present physicality to the build. Ran a 7.44 second 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, takes a slower approach to the ball but funnels it cleanly to a longer arm action that creates low and accurate throws to bags. Also pitches, shows good balance to his delivery and works through a low three-quarters slot with good arm speed generating great running life to the fastball. Also shows good feel for a sharp, late-breaking curveball and a changeup that he tunnels well off the fastball and gets good sinking life to. Right-handed hitter, works long through the zone but shows excellent strength and explodes hard through impact. Able to adjust the barrel to match plane and creates significant jump off impact when squared. Named to 2021 March Northern California Workout Camp Top Prospect List.
