2019 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Alexander Gomez is a 2022 OF/RHP/MIF with a 5-7 155 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Klein Collins. Lean athletic build with plenty of growing still ahead of him. 6.95 runner, works through the ball aggressively in the outfield, can cut down the size of his crow hop to improve his release time, has some present arm strength and makes accurate throws. Right handed hitter, starts with a turned in front shoulder that lengthens his swing, rotational swing approach with an uphill swing plane, mostly a pull side approach, developing bat speed. Also pitched and was solid on the mound. Smooth athletic delivery with good lower half use, high 3/4's to over the top arm action. Attacked hitters with a mid-80's fastball and used both sides of the plate with intent. Breaking ball was thrown for strikes as well with good depth. Quality all around athlete who should keep improving. Good student. Named to the National Underclass Main Event Top Prospect List.
