Will Muench is a 2023 SS with a 5-9 135 lb. frame from Lake St. Louis, MO who attends Timberland. Young, square shouldered frame with a lean, projectable build with room to grow physically moving forward. Ran a 7.88 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front and funnels it in well, takes short steps to the ball and shows footwork to and through the ball, shows quickness to transfer and accuracy on throws across with arm strength that will continue to develop. Also pitched, worked exclusively out of the stretch, short leg raise and utilized drop and drive mechanics with lower half to the plate. Loose arm circle through the back working to a three-quarters slot; fastball topped out at 69 mph, flashed nice running life and able to work in on hitters while filling the zone. Curveball shows 11-5 shape up to 54 mph, sweeping finish to glove side. Lefthanded hitter, begins with an open stance and utilizes a leg lift trigger with hip coil at top of swing. Barrel starts deep but shows looseness to swing path through the zone and employs a contact oriented approach. Can incorporate additional lower half into swing with weight shift, comfort pulling the ball but can work to all fields.
