Jason Neve is a 2018 C/3B with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Camas, WA who attends Camas. Medium frame with an athletic build and beginnings of strength. primary catcher with a low, side set stance while receiving the baseball. Gains some ground while working to a taller throwing position. Developing feel for exchange and released from a compact three-quarters slot. Throws produced uphill carry to the bag topping at 72 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 2.13. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing high energy footwork while working to the baseball. Flashed some range to each side with clean glove actions while funneling. Topped at 77 miles per hour showing accurate carry to the bag. Right handed hitter with an even, balanced stance and large toe tap trigger. Stays on back side throughout with rotational lower half actions to contact. Hands slide to a lower launching position prior to work to contact on an uphill plane through extension. Swung with intent and looked to work the ball to the middle of the field between the gaps. Also pitched utilizing a simple rock step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays balanced at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive lower half actions. Lands in line with front side and carries momentum to glove side at finish. Deep arm circle at take back and released from a high three-quarters slot. Fastball flashed occasional running action in the mid 70's, topped at 77 miles per hour. Tends to slow arm speed with a changeup offering in the mid 60's. Good student as well.
