Joseph Batusich is a 2020 C/3B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Crest Hill, IL who attends Joliet Catholic Academy. Large frame with athletic, strong build; ran 60 yard dash in 8.21 seconds. Switch-hitter, sets up from right side with even stance, strides even and shows line drive swing plane, looseness to stroke with good present bat speed, stays committed to the middle of the field; from left side shows same solid bat speed on slightly flatter path, showed ability to work the other way at times, good overall hitting tools from both sides. Worked out defensively behind the plate, slightly side-saddle set, receives well and shows smoothness to transfer mechanics, short steps through footwork, clean fundamental catch-and-throw skills, clocked up to 74 mph on throws down to 2nd base. Very good student.
