Yulian Batista is a 2022 RHP/1B with a 6-6 275 lb. frame from Bronx, NY who attends St. Raymond HS For Boys. Extra-large, broad shouldered frame with present physical strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran an 8.50 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, side step moving into delivery, high leg lift with a slight gather on backside; shows quickness to arm and can get additional drive out of lower half. Ball comes out clean and shows quickness to arm with extension out front, topped out at 86 mph and worked mostly in the low-80s early. Short life to the slider up to 73 mph with 10-4 shape, occasionally slows at release on breaking ball. Fields the ball out front at first base, shows softness to hands and picks the ball well, moves well on feet off the bag with balance, carry on throws across. Righthanded hitter, begins with an open and spread stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Keeps hands inside the ball and stays short through the zone, can incorporate additional lower half into swing. Looks to lift and ball jumps to middle of field, incorporate strength, handsy swing, shows nice carry when squared.
