Jake Sekinski is a 2023 RHP/MIF, OF with a 5-9 145 lb. frame from Valhalla, NY who attends Valhalla. Young, square shouldered frame with a lean and projectable build, strength to lower half, has additional room to fill moving forward. Ran a 7.53 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, medium side step moving into a slightly coiled leg lift; stays short and compact through the backside working to a three-quarters release point. Repeats well and works ahead in count, fills the strike zone and fastball up to 79 mph, maintains velocity and works to both sides of plate. Sequences well, slider shows short tilt and depth to it, can manipulate the shape depending on count. Projects moving forward with added strength. Extra step moving into release in the outfield, similar tight arm action, shows arm strength, works around the bag, can incorporate additional lower half into release. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Shows quickness to hands, looks to lift at point of contact and gets uphill at times, shows a handle for the barrel, comfort working to pull side. Excellent student.
