Jacob Smith is a 2022 RHP/1B/OF with a 6-4 214 lb. frame from Delray Beach, FL who attends J. P. Taravella. Tall and sturdy athletic build with good present strength. Long and loose arm on the mound, very whippy from an over the top arm slot, works downhill with good extension out front. Fastball worked up to 87 mph, mostly straight, has more velocity there in the future. Curveball was his lead secondary pitch, throws it often with good depth and downer shape, has good feel for landing the curveball. Change up was a good pitch with good tunneling and arm speed from his fastball. Solid three-pitch mix and the ability to use it. 7.20 runner in the sixty. Also worked out in the outfield and showed good arm strength and athleticism at that position. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread bent knee stance with a quiet load and stride into contact, swings hard with some front side violent, flashed some strength in his hands with occasional hard pull side contact. Good student, signed with Pacific.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
