Jacob Wendland is a 2024 3B/RHP, IF, OF with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Brentwood, TN who attends Lipscomb Academy. Jacob ran a 7.06 sixty yard dash. He has a long lean frame with some broadness to the shoulder and strength in the frame. Primary middle infield he shows clean footwork getting to the baseball while catching it cleanly out in front. He showed a good drive off the backside while having a smooth glove to hand transfer. On the mound Jacob showed good balance in the delivery with a clean operation. Wendland has a belt high leg lift while landing linearly towards the plate. The hands start high and shift to low with full path 3/4s arm stroke. The fastball which sat in the upper 70s had plus arm side run as he showed good feel for it to both sides of the plate. Jacob showed a SL with some vertical break as well as CH with some tumbling action late to it. Right handed hitter starts from a narrow even base with a slight toe tap trigger. The hands showed plenty of aggressiveness as there was plenty of bat speed and quickness to the barrel. The bat path stays linear through the zone as he drove line drives to the middle part of the field.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
