Karson Grout is a 2024 3B/RHP/MIF with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Wellman, IA who attends Mid-Prairie. Features a physical build with strength present. Ran a 7.03 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman. Shows shorter footwork with range that profiles best for a corner spot. Will bend at the waist at times. Still developing fluid glove actions through the catchpoint. Reached 89 mph across the diamond using a shorter arm action. Also worked out in the outfield. Showcased a balanced approach into a 3/4 slot release. Threw 92 mph during defensive workouts. Left-handed hitter. Features an open stance with a spread base and high hand setup. Swings on an uppercut path with strength at compact. Can drive balls well when squared up. Continuing to refine the bat path could allow for high barrel accuracy. Very good student. Verbal commit to Iowa.
