Blake Jay is a 2026 SS/RHP with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Shawnee, KS who attends Mill Valley. Medium, high waisted frame with long levers and tons of room to fill out. Recorded a 7.29 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary shortstop with active footwork into the fielding process, a clean funnel out in-front and plenty of lateral range to either side. Works downhill through the baseball with athletic movements and recorded online, accurate throws up to 78 mph across the diamond. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked from a full windup delivery with a belt high leg lift and medium stride length out to foot strike. Proficient strike thrower with good command to both sides of the plate. Fastball worked in the mid-to-upper 70s for the duration of his outing and topped out at 80 mph from a loose three-quarters arm slot. Generates good arm speed and mimics his release point with both pitches. Landed 11-5 shaped curveball for strikes, as it flashes abrupt two-plane action and swing-and-miss traits. Stayed in a similar velocity band from the stretch and has tons of projection remaining, will continue to add velocity as he physically matures and has immense upside. Right-handed hitter that hits from a narrow, slightly open stance with a high, tight hand set and high back elbow. Incorporates a toe-tap trigger and rotational lower half mechanics to generate torque into launch. Whole field approach with slightly elongated swing path, some feel for the barrel and best impact to the right centerfield gap. Will continue to improve and expand overall hit tool with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Projectable young frame with immense physical upside and intriguing two-way abilities. Good Student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
