Matt Villapiano is a 2021 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Howell, NJ who attends Freehold Twp HS. Recorded a 5.70 second 40-yard dash time. Average build with some room to fill out and add strength to the frame. Primary lefthanded pitcher who filled up the strike zone and attacked hitters. Low effort delivery with a slight crossfired landing leg. Long, loose arm action with a three-quarters arm slot. Fastball topped out at 77 mph and showed some sinking action. Curveball had some spin and started out on a higher plane with some depth to it. Can land the breaking ball for strikes. Arm strength plays nicely from secondary position of the outfield. Lefthanded hitter with a wide base, high hand set, and a high back elbow. Deeper hand load with a balanced stance. Flashes some impact and works best on a line drive plane. Good student.
