2021 WWBA Workout Showcase (July 14)
Owen Farris is a 2023 SS/C, 3B, UT with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Missouri City, TX who attends Ridge Point. Recorded a 7.09 second sixty yard dash time. Lean and athletic frame with great physical projection. Primary shortstop, rounds it well and can really pick it, has great feel for the glove. Quick and twitchy actions with obvious athleticism present. Arm strength is a real tool, recorded throws at 90 mph. Secondary outfielder with an aggressive approach, has some urgency to the actions. Showed off the arm here as well, recording throws at 92 mph. Can play both defensive positions at a high level. Right-handed hitter with an even stance and a low back elbow set. Utilizes a small toe tap trigger with minimal hand load. Direct hand path with a downhill swing plane, creates limited separation but has definite hand quickness and bat speed present. Has the tools to really improve in the box, has a high ceiling overall given his athleticism and arm strength. Good student. Named to the 2021 WWBA Workout Showcase Top Prospect List.
