Ariston Veasey is a 2024 C/RHP/UT with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Tyrone, GA who attends Starrs Mill. Medium athletic build with some present strength and room for more. 6.62 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher but projects best as a pitcher due to his outstanding arm tool. Works from the stretch on the mound with a quick arm circle and very good arm speed, taller mechanics with a high and tension free arm slot and release. Works downhill with a fastball that reached 95 mph, gets big ride at times through the zone. Flashed a big breaking downer curveball as his second pitch. Arm strength is obvious behind the plate, sets up low and athletic behind the plate, comes out of his crouch hard and quick, still developing consistency in his footwork and overall catching mechanics. Right handed hitter, hits from a very closed stance with an early shift to his front side, opposite field approach with a downhill swing plane, did not show he could turn the barrel from this approach. Good student.
