Sam Goodin is a 2022 3B/RHP/SS with a 6-2 160 lb. frame from Athens, TN who attends McMinn. He ran a 7.52 second sixty. A primary third baseman with a longer lean build. On the infield he showed soft hands working through the ball well on the back hand and carrying his momentum into the throws with a lower slot that translates well when on the move allowing him to make accurate throws. On the mound he starts with a side step into a belt high leg lift with a crouch at the top before he works down the mound with a medium arm action up to a high three-quarters release. His three pitch mix works well in inducing ground balls as the fastball barres in on the hands of right-handed hitters at 78-82 mph, the slider showed flashes of bite in the low 70's staying horizontal through the zone while the changeup tunnels off the fastball as a good change of pace creating deception. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wider base and high hands using a leg lift trigger as the bat works steep into the hitting zone as he impacted the ball best to the middle of the field with developing bat speed that will get better as he counties to add strength to his frame. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
