Trent Caraway is a 2023 SS/RHP/3B with a 6-2 205 lb. frame from Dana Point, CA who attends JSerra Catholic. Strong physical build. Right handed hitter, has a short and strong low tension swing, gets the barrel out front consistently, ball comes off the barrel hard, easy plus raw bat speed, very polished hitter who creates very hard contact without selling out for it. 6.60 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, projects to third base at the next level, also plays some outfield. Arm strength is his best defensive tool, gets very good carry on his throws. Took a turn on the mound, short stride out front, quick and compact arm action, some effort at release, 3/4's arm slot. Fastball worked in the low 90's, gets hard run and sink consistently. Threw a tight curveball with good spin and some depth, has plus feel for landing the curveball. Would be a high level pitching prospect if it wasn't for his bat. Good student, verbal commitment to Oregon State. Named to play in the Perfect Game All-American Classic.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
