Gabriel "Lucky" De Zendegui is a 2019 SS/2B with a 5-9 175 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Belen Jesuit Prep. Compact frame with a strong, athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Ran a 7.26 sixty yard dash. Primary shortstop with easy, fluid footwork while surrounding and working through the baseball. Funnels the baseball cleanly out front with fundamental glove work and works through transfer quickly. Released from a compact, three-quarters arm slot generating good carry across the infield with developing accuracy, topped at 81 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and simple leg lift trigger. Moves into contact well with a linear lower half. Swings with intent on a naturally leveraged swing plane that created good carry to the pull side gap. Creates good barrel whip through the zone when lower half stays balanced and in rhythm. Good student as well.
