Luke Scherrer is a 2023 C/RHP with a 6-2 210 lb. frame from Yucaipa, CA who attends Yucaipa. Big and strong athletic build. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread stance with a deep hand load, busy hand load, gets the barrel out well and gets the ball into the air consistently, has some carry to the pull side and mid field, swing and timing is consistent with good strength behind it. 6.85 runner in the sixty. Good athleticism behind the plate, has a very quick release and comes out of his crouch well, throws from a very low arm slot that will be an issue at the next level, big tail on his throws, will need to make adjustments with this. Good enough athlete to play corner positions if not catching. Did not pitch at this event but has been up to 91 mph on the mound. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Cal Poly.
