Blaise Grove is a 2022 LHP/1B with a 6-7 228 lb. frame from Summit Point, WV who is home schooled. Extra-large, athletic frame with long limbs and present strength proportioned throughout. Left-handed pitcher, begins with a rock step moving into a leg lift up above belt; full arm action through the back getting to a high three-quarters release point. Extended slot and creates lots of angle at release, fastball topped out at 92 mph, comes out of the hand cleanly, works across body at release and was around the zone throughout. Slider shows above average life to it up to 82 mph, maintains slot and release on the pitch, flashes sharp bite and depth to it. Two-pitch mix played well off of one another, able to miss bats with both. Excellent student. Verbal commitment to South Carolina.
