Christopher Hamann is a 2017 LHP/OF with a 5-10 135 lb. frame from Washington, DC who attends Woodrow Wilson High School. Medium, athletic frame with a young, lean look, long limbs and projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.45 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, does a nice job of getting tall on backside and remains balanced throughout delivery, lands slightly closed and works across body at release. Loose and fluid arm action through the backside prior to getting to a low three-quarters arm slot at release, able to generate natural running life to fastball that topped out at 80 mph. Shows ability to work within the zone and to either side of the plate, throws easy and projects for more velocity with added physicality and lower half into drive. Showed a curveball at 60 mph, flashed sharpness down in zone. Similar arm action from the outfield with plenty of looseness, ball comes out of hand cleanly and showed sound arm strength, takes short steps to the ball and finishes with an upright release. Lefthanded hitter, begins with an upright and slightly open stance, loads hands back at start of swing. High back elbow in the box, shows a line drive swing plane through the zone and uses hands well, shows extension at times out front, contact approach in the box and able to work all fields. Good student.
