Luke Ellis is a 2021 LHP/OF with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Somerville, TN who attends St. Benedict At Auburndale. Long and lean athletic build with lots of room to fill out and get stronger. High leg lift delivery with a compact arm in back that hides the ball well, methodical delivery pace, has good arm quickness and projectability. Fastball topped out at 90 mph, lots more there as he gets stronger, gets hard sinking action down in the zone and some arm side run as well. Change up is his best secondary pitch, shows confidence in the pitch and uses it to set up his fastball to both right and left handed hitters. Flashed an occasional big breaking curveball. Has an idea how to pitch and work in and out. Very good student, verbal commitment to Mississippi.
