2017 PG Top Prospect Games at TCU
Chase Van Dyk is a 2018 LHP with a 6-2 162 lb. frame from Frisco, TX who attends Reedy High School. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders, long limbs, and a high waist; projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Primary lefthanded pitcher, gets tall on backside with a high leg lift up above belt; gathers weight on backside before driving towards plate, lands slightly closed with strike foot and able to create angle as a result. Quick arm action through the back working to an extended three-quarters release point, slightly higher at times, able to generate plane to fastball when on top of the ball. Fastball topped out at 88 mph, comes out of hand clean, mostly true in life but went after hitters and worked arm side. Pitched off fastball, flashed a curveball up to 74 mph with 1-7 shape and short depth. Projects well with added physicality to frame. Named to PG Top Prospect Games Top Prospect List. Verbal commitment to Oklahoma. Very good student.
