Dominick Madonna is a 2019 RHP/OF with a 5-10 168 lb. frame from Lady Lake, FL who attends Villages Charter. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame projects to support additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Primary right handed pitcher with a uptempo side step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Lands in line with front side and carries momentum to target. Long arm circle at separation and released from a high three-quarters arm slot. Fastball created good downhill angle to the plate with solid life through the zone, topped at 86 miles per hour. Maintained arm speed with a slider offering that had solid tilt with sharp sweeping int he mid 70's. Flashed a changeup as well with sinking action to arm side as well. Maintained velocity well throughout each inning of work and effectively changed speeds. Fastball flashed the jump out of hand to create swings and misses up in the zone as well. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing clean, sound footwork while traveling to and working through the baseball. Fluid glove skills while funneling and working through transfer. Created accurate, stiff carry to the bag topping at 87 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and high back elbow set. Generated some linear shift into contact on a loose, extended path to the baseball. Swung with intent to drive the baseball to the middle of the field and pull side gap. Clears the hips well when working to pitches middle in allowing for hard line drive contact to pull side. Excellent student.
