Michael D'Ambrosio is a 2024 RHP/1B with a 6-3 215 lb. frame from Plainview, NY who attends Plainview-Old Bethpage/Jfk. Medium, proportioned frame with square shoulders and room to add strength. Recorded a 5.37 second forty-yard dash time. Primary first baseman with a fundamentally sound defensive skill set. Showed some agility around the bag, while executing quick turns and accurate throws up to 87 mph across the diamond. On the mound is where the strongly built right-hander showed best, as he ran his fastball up to 88 mph effortlessly and pounded the zone seamlessly. He repeats well and attacks the zone with his fastball that displays heavy sink to it. Mixed in promising 11-5 shaped slurve with abrupt plane change that generates tons of empty swings. Mixed in replicated changeup that has fade and tumble to it to complete his three-pitch mix. Advanced feel for pitching with aptitude for spin and replication of his release point. Will continue to expand his overall repertoire with additional velocity. Right-handed hitter that hits from a narrow, slightly open base with a high, tight hand set and toe-tap trigger. Leveraged stroke with middle-of-the field approach and excellent feel for the barrel. Showed legitimate power potential to the middle and pullsides of the field. Projectable, strongly built prospect with two-way potential and tons of upside on the mound. Named to the 2023 Northeast Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
