Jeremy Diaz is a 2023 OF/MIF with a 5-7 136 lb. frame from Flushing, NY who attends Townsend Harris. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lena, projectable frame, has room to add strength going forward. Ran a 7.20 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, fields the ball to side but comes through it well with extra steps prior to release, incorporates a crow hop, long arm action through the back working to a tight release with an over-the-top slot, around the intended bag with throws and shows some carry. Fields the ball out front with a wide base in the infield, shorter arm stroke on throws, takes long strides up the middle and showed best quickness on the charge, develop actions with the glove. Also pitched, exclusive stretch, leg lift up to belt and does a nice job of striding on line, long arm action through the back; fastball topped out at 70 mph, flashed cut action to the pitch and able to induce soft contact. Around the zone with curveball, shows 11-5 shape and feel for pitch developed well. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Shows looseness to hands and creates best contact when getting extended out front. Repeats swing well and able to work to all parts of the field, ball comes off well, projects well with additional physical strength.
