Eddie Sargent is a 2022 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-9 151 lb. frame from Laurel, MD who attends Archbishop Spalding. Recorded a 5.08 second 40-yd dash time. Athletic, medium frame with high waist and plenty of room to fill out. Primary left-handed pitcher with a smooth, simple operation and good command to both sides of the plate. Uses a simple side-step rocker into a belt high balance point with good drive down the mound, working into a high three-quarters arm slot. Fastball worked in the 78-80 mph range with occasional cut, pairing it with a well-tunneled curveball that flashed plus downward tilt. Easy fastball release and simplicity of operation allow for continued upside on the mound. Secondary outfielder with hesitant actions, loose arm action and ability to produce accurate throws with developing arm strength. Shows sound fundamentals working through the ball with momentum, recording throws up t 79 mph in the outfield workout. Right-handed hitter with a slightly open stance, high hand set and small leg lift trigger. Stays balanced throughout contact well, showing consistent barrel accuracy and ability to use the whole field. Young prospect with a projectable body, will continue to improve with added strength and maturity. Good Student.
