Robert Fortenberry is a 2021 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Frisco, TX who attends Wakeland HS. Medium compact frame with square shoulders and additional room on the frame for added strength. Primary lefthanded pitcher with an athletic, repeatable delivery and a higher arm slot which allows him to generate some angle upon entry to the strike zone. Fastball recorded up to 83 mph with some heaviness and short sink to the pitch. Good present feel to spin the ball with a 1/7 shaped curveball that had depth and could be landed for strikes. Very tough at-bat for hitters of the same handedness as there is some deception to the overall release. Can locate strikes to both sides of the plate with good pitchability and feel for command. Curveball changes eye levels and generates some plane when leveraged to the lower third of the strike zone. Good student. Named to the 2018 Sunshine South Showcase Top Prospect List.
