LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2022 National Academic Showcase (Tues/Wed)
Nicholas McCord is a 2024 SS/RHP with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Birmingham, AL who attends Oak Mountain. Nicholas has an arm that will continue to impress as he develops. Showing better movements and tangibles from the outfield, McCord showed off his arm strength while putting some throws right ton the money. From the mound, Nicholas has control of 3 pitches that is above average for the high school level pitcher. Using his fastball to both sides of the plate that jumps out of his hand, a curveball that shows top to bottom action with good depth late and a changeup that turns over a bit to get some bottom and depth late. Having this skill set so early is going to be a huge asset at the next level. Some added strength to the frame will aide in the development. McCord also swings a good stick, with a bit of a rotational swing. Nicholas is a strong kid for his build, he creates some hard contact with a slightly uphill bat path to the middle and pull sides of the field. Nicholas also has some good speed with a 60 yard dash time of 6.79 seconds. McCord was named to the 2022 National Academic Showcase Top Team List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
