Adrian Cotton Jr is a 2017 RHP with a 6-4 215 lb. frame from Gretna, NE who attends Gretna. Large frame with broad should and a strong, athletic build. Primary right handed pitcher with a simple side step to high leg kick delivery. Stays tall on back isde at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Lands in line with the plate and stays balanced through finish. Long arm circle with a loose three-quarters release. Hides fastball pretty well at take back and flashed good running action to arm side in the mid to upper 80's, topped at 89 miles per hour. Curveball had 10/4 shape with ok spin and some sweep in the low 70's. Showed good feel for a changeup delivery that had some wiggle to arm side as well in the mid 70's. Primarily looked to fill the zone and work to the outer edge of the plate with all three pitches. Also hit, left handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and simple leg lift trigger. Shifts into contact well with linear lower half actions. Smooth, loose path to contact with natural lift through the zone. Repeated barrel plane well with bat speed and present raw power at contact. Generated solid back spin off the barrel that created good carry to the pull side gap. Flashed the ability to drop barrel head to pitches located down in the zone and drive them with authority.
