Joshua Allen is a 2020 OF/LHP with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Oviedo, FL who attends Oviedo. Broad shouldered athletic build with some present strength and room for plenty more. 6.95 runner, has good fundamentals in the outfield and moves through the ball well, fields out front with soft hands, makes accurate throws. Left handed hitter, hits from an open stance with a low and deep hand start, long and strong swing with lots of jump off the barrel, pull side contact. Also pitched, gathers well over the rubber with a good hip turn, lands very open out front, 3/4's arm slot with a compact arm action. Upper 80's fastball topped out at 89 mph, stays on top of the pitch well and gets it down in the zone consistently. Short breaking slider, tends to slow arm on his change up. Very good student, verbal commitment to Duke.
