Joshua Mitchell is a 2018 MIF/RHP with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Lenexa, KS who attends Shawnee Mission Northwest HS. Medium frame with long limbs and a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Ran a 7.57 sixty-yard dash. Primary middle infielder with fundamental footwork while working to and surrounding the baseball. Flashed clean glove actions while funneling out front with quick exchanges while working through transition. Good quickness to each side with solid range. Released form a compact three-quarters arm slot generating accurate, on line carry across the infield topping at 82 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and high back elbow set. Stack weight to back side at load and launches to contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose, extended path to contact with a level plane through extension. Generated some lift to the middle of the field when connecting with baseball out front and repeating barrel plane. Also pitched, started from first base side of rubber with a leg lift delivery. Hides baseball well at take back and released from a compact three-quarters arm slot. Fastball had straight actions through the zone with occasional downhill angle, topped at 83 miles per hour. Curveball had tight spin with good depth. Also flashed a changeup in the upper 70's with a deceptive arm action. Good feel for all three pitched with the ability to spot on each edge of the plate when staying balanced through finish.
