Manuel Munoz is a 2019 C/1B with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Simi Valley, CA who attends Royal. Large frame with broad shoulders and present strength. Primary catcher with a slightly taller stance while receiving the baseball. Gains ground well towards the bag with quick footwork. Clean glove circle while working through exchange and released from a compact arm slot. Throws created accurate, on line carry to the bag topping at 74 miles per hour. Best workout pop time of 1.96. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and toe tap trigger. Created good linear shift into contact with lower half. Displayed good feel for the barrel throughout the zone with present bat speed to drive the ball through the gaps. Excellent student as well.
