Daniel Hammond is a 2019 RHP/MIF with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Prairie Village, KS who attends Shawnee Mission East HS. Medium athletic build with some present strength. On line delivery with a tight high 3/4's to over the top release slot, high arm circle in back, will occasionally drift out front and leave his arm behind. Primary fastball pitcher, topped out at 85 mph, mostly straight, works his fastball to spots and misses low when he misses, showed the ability to jam left handed hitters inside especially well. Slider has a short and late bite and is consistent, acts like a cut change up effectively. Potential two-way prospect. 7.25 runner, has balanced and athletic actions in the infield with clean glove skills and a quick release on his throws. Right handed hitter, hits from a slightly crouched spread stance with some lower half shift into contact, has quick hands and creates bat speed, solid mid field line drive contact with some jump off the barrel, sound overall approach. Good student.
