Kevin Vargas is a 2018 SS with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Las Mareas de Salinas, PR who attends International Baseball Academy. Very athletic build, has good present strength with lots of room for more. 6.76runner, has run in the 6.5's previously, has soft hands and plenty of lateral range at shortstop, fluid actions, gets his glove down early and flows through the ball, very quick and athletic, strong arm, played multiple positions all over the field and looked comfortable. Right handed hitter, shows the same fluidity and athleticism in his swing as he does defensively, has very quick hands and makes solid line drive contact. Has fun playing and showed leadership abilities. Good student, signed with Florida International.
