2018 Mid-Atlantic Prospect Showcase
Peter Schimmel is a 2019 OF/RHP with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Bethpage, NY who attends Bethpage Senior. Large frame with a strong, athletic build. Ran a 6.97 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with clean footwork while traveling to and working through the baseball. Smooth glove actions at pick up and worked through exchange efficiently. Loose arm circle at separation and maintained momentum towards target at release. Throws produced on line carry to the bag topping at 80 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and sweeping leg lift trigger. Created some linear shift into baseball with lower half. Loose hand path with a naturally lifted barrel plane through extension. Flashed solid bat speed with good strength at contact while working to the middle of the field. Created tight spin off the barrel when squared that generated very good carry. Named to the 2018 Mid-Atlantic Prospect Showcase, Top Prospect List.
