2018 Mid-Atlantic Prospect Showcase
Christian Buchler is a 2019 LHP/ with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Yardley, PA who attends Pennsbury. Medium frame with an athletic build and beginnings of strength. Primary left handed pitcher with a simple rock step to high leg lift delivery. Stays balanced on back side and worked to the plate with drop and drive actions. Hides baseball well at take back and released from a high energy three-quarters arm slot. Fastball came out of hand cleanly producing good downhill plane with the low 80's, topped at 82 miles per hour. Flashed the ability to create slight cut with fastball while working to each edge of the plate. Curveball had tight 1/7 shape with late depth in the low 60's. Displayed good feel for curveball with the ability to deliver in all counts. Also flashed a changeup offering with some sink in the low 70's. Consistently changed speed and induced weak contact throughout each inning. Excellent student as well.
