Zachary Young is a 2018 3B/RHP/OF with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Dripping Springs, TX who attends Dripping Springs HS. Young has a medium sized frame with a lean build. He showed solid transfers and release on the infield and has good hands. Young has solid infield actions with 3B defensive tools. He has solid arm strength up to 79 MPH and made accurate throws. At the plate Young starts with a very spread stance and he takes a big hack at the baseball. He showed an efforty swing and showed some strength in his swing. Young showed a direct swing to the baseball and stayed inside the ball well. He took good swings in the games portion of the showcase and made solid game contact. Young flashed some pop and has more power potential in there. He pitched from a high 3/4 arm slot with a clean arm action. He gets some run on his fastball and gets occasional heavy sink on it as well. Excellent student.
