Mason Speirs is a 2017 C/RHP/3B with a 5-11 200 lb. frame from Westminster, CO who attends Broomfield HS. Very strong muscular build. Has good one spot quickness behind the plate, has a quick exchange, lots of arm strength, 1.82 best pop time, shows the same type of arm strength at third base. Right handed hitter, open stance, short swing with good timing, works the middle of the field with an inside swing path, has a quiet load and is consistent in his mechanics, line drive contact approach, made hard middle of the field game contact. Also pitched, arm action is longer than on the mound but loose and low effort, high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 84 mph, tended to be straight in mid-plate, curveball showed good spin and depth at 67 mph. Good all around tools and skills for the position. Good student.
