2017 PG Fall Top Prospect National Showcase
Blake Renner is a 2019 RHP with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from Alpharetta, GA who attends Cambridge High School. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and a strong, proportioned frame with strength throughout. Primary righthanded pitcher, simple and compact delivery, strides on line down the mound and remains directional towards the plate. Leg lift up to belt, works with a full arm a strong through the back and gets to a three-quarters release point. Low effort release on fastball, topped out at 87 mph with occasional short sinking life down in the zone, gets on top of the ball well and can work to either side of the plate. Maintained velocity and ability to work lower third of zone out of stretch, comfort working to glove side. Curveball shows tight rotation, slows arm action upon release, found feel and release point for his 10-4 shaped slider as the outing continued. Flashed nice changeup at 77 mph with maintained arm speed and nice fading life, can continue to incorporate it into arsenal more regularly. Named to Fall National Showcase Top Prospect List.
