Jack Phillips is a 2017 RHP/1B with a 6-4 185 lb. frame from Fishers, IN who attends Cathedral HS. Large frame, nice long lean pitcher's build, projects well physically. Small side step delivery with compact arm-action, works to a higher three quarter's arm slot. Works quickly, has aggressive approach and likes to go right after hitters. Fastball up to 83 mph, has been up to 85 mph at past events, pitch has late tailing life and was tough for hitters to pick up out of the hand. Shows feel for a curveball with good depth, most have 11/5 shape although occasionally it will flash more sweeping tilt and gloveside finish. Flashes rare changeup. Competes well on mound, has elements to work with, good upside. Very good student, named to Ohio Valley Showcase Top Prospect List.
