Rafael Ayala Santos is a 2017 2B/IF with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Toa Baja, PR who attends Leadership Christian Academy. Slender young high waisted build, plenty of room to get stronger. 7.17 runner, has quick feet defensively and quick actions coming to the ball, fields the ball out front with a good exchange to throw, solid arm strength, has enough arm strength to play left side infield, tends to stand up straight to throw causing his throws to tend to sail high. Switch-hitter, short and compact swing with limited shift right handed, mid field contact approach with limited lower half use. Has a loose and more natural swing left handed with better bat speed and strength at contact, has some barrel wrap to start and is longer to the ball but makes better impact. Should continue to improve with additional strength. Good student.
