Jackson Petersen is a 2017 C/2B with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Libertyville, IL who attends Libertyville HS. Large frame with good build and overall strength throughout body. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.44 seconds. Sets up to hit with wide spread stance, lower elbow with medium-height hand set. Loads deep onto back side but fires through into swing well, brings lower half with authority and generates good hip torque. Mostly line drive swing plane but will show some loft, good present bat speed, drives the ball pretty well with consistency with overall approach to pull-field. Worked out defensively behind the plate. High set, receives well and gains ground forward into catch-and-throw mechanics, shows quality arm strength out of quick release with good accuracy down to 2B. Throws clocked up to 78 MPH, popped as low as 1.95 seconds. Good student.
