Thomas Holdorf is a 2017 1B/OF, LHP with a 6-3 175 lb. frame from Freehold, NJ who attends Freehold Borough. Large frame with long, lean present build with good athleticism and high end projection throughout. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.12 seconds. Sets up to hit with weight coiled back and front foot on toe, hands stay and up and loaded through pre-swing movement, good leverage in swing with bat speed and barrel quickness, covers the plate well and is able to make hard contact on pitches all over the zone, has a good approach to hitting and projects extremely well with the bat. Easy actions throughout defensive workout at 1st base, fields out front and shows quick transfer with quality arm strength, picks it cleanly and easily with balance and soft hands. Pitched as well, short arm circle through the back with slight hook, moderate effort through the delivery, mid 3/4 arm slot, got fastball downhill to both sides at 80-83 MPH. Elicited lots of ground balls with the pitch. Curveball in the upper 60's with 1/7 shape and very good depth; sharp, quality pitch. Named to 2016 Sunshine Northeast Top Prospect List. Very good student.
