Scott Jones is a 2018 2B/SS with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Sulphur, LA who attends Sulphur High School. Medium, athletic build with square shoulders and present strength proportioned well throughout frame. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front with a wide base, hands play well at the ball, showed nice balance and body control charging in during live action, extra step on throws across, arm strength should continue to develop moving forward. Righthanded hitter, begins with a low hand set and back elbow in the box, loads hands back at start of swing and shows nice quickness to get the barrel through. Shows looseness to hands and able to generate lift out front with carry off the barrel when squared; found the barrel well against live pitch, shows carry with back spin to the pull side gap. Stayed on spin and shows ability to use all fields, looks to drive the ball at point of contact. Named to PG Top Prospect Games Top Prospect List. Very good student. Verbal commitment to LSU-Eunice.
