Ben O'Meara is a 2018 RHP/MIF with a 6-2 145 lb. frame from Atlanta, GA who attends The Lovett School. Large, athletic frame with long limbs and square shoulders, very lean and projectable with room on frame to fill with additional strength. Ran a 7.50 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, full arm action through the back side working to a three-quarters arm slot. Does a good job of getting tall on backside with high leg lift up past belt, lands online and does a nice job of working on top of the baseball. Arm works well coming through and showed ability to locate to either side with short running life, topped out at 81 mph and worked to bottom of the zone consistently. Showed a feel for curveball and mixed frequently, 11-5 shape with tight rotation and short depth, slows arm slightly coming through. Moves well on feet in the infielder, shows agility to actions, full arm action with strength. Righthanded hitter, showed a feel for the barrel coming through the zone with line drive contact. Linear swing plane with consistent contact to pull side, shows some bat speed at present that will continue to develop with additional strength. Very good student.
